Tips and tricks to make winter more upbeat.
Cold days, longer nights, and busy schedules can make the winter months feel stressful and overwhelming. Fight the winter blues by creating a peaceful space in your home to relax. Carve out time to enjoy the space with our tips below.
Maybe it’s the unoccupied corner of your family living room or a small area in your bedroom, but no matter where, find a place to claim as a cozy corner. Create this corner with an oversized or comfortable chair, some throw pillows, and maybe some books. This can be a place where you can get comfortable and clear your mind for a bit, taking a break from the busy hustle and bustle of life.
Coming off the busyness of holiday parties, school back in full swing, short days, and the winter blues can make it difficult to set time aside for yourself. Having time reserved on your calendar can help you unplug and recharge.
To relax, take a deep breath... and breathe in the calming scents of essential oils. Invest in a small diffuser to keep in your bedroom, living room, or even bathroom.
A great calming scent is lavender, or even peppermint for a festive winter scent.
If you don’t want to invest in a diffuser, candles are great options too!
Do you miss the bright color of flowers and summery greenery? Buy some indoor potted plants! Whether real or artificial, plants are known to be mood boosters.
Plus, plants can serve as either décor piece or a centerpiece for your kitchen table!
Whether you use one of the tips above or one of your own, be sure to take some time for yourself this holiday season and don’t let the winter blues get the best of you!
