As you prepare to apply for your mortgage, don’t be caught off guard by document requests. While this list may not be everything you need for your situation or loan program, it is a great starting point:

ID
Driver's license or state issued photo ID
Tax-Returns
Last two years of tax returns and W2s or 1099s
Pay-Period
Pay stubs from the most recent 30-day pay period
401k-Statement
Two consecutive months of bank statements
Bank-Statements-1
Your most recent 401(k) statement, if applicable
